There are a lot of different charities out there and choosing which one to donate too is always difficult. One way to make this decision easier is to find the financial information of these charities and base your decision on who focuses on what, who needs more money, and how much of the money donated is actually used for charitable functions.
Forbes recently released a list of the top 50 largest US charities and through this, and other sites like it, you can learn about the charities you support and make informed decisions based on information such as their total revenue, how much private support they get, and most importantly, what percentage of the money you donate will actually be committed to charitable causes.
That last fact is possibly one of the more important statistics this list shows. Not all the money that you donate to these charities will necessarily go to the people you’re trying to help. A lot of money goes into actually running the charity and paying the people who make it all possible. While that’s definitely important, some people might be turned off if/when they learn that the money they’re donating isn’t directly helping those in need. Don’t let that stop you though. You can use this list to choose a new charity to support and to see if who you’re supporting is meeting you criteria.
Check out the list below if you’re curious as to who to donate to and want to find out more information!
